Our MCIA board is meeting with members at job sites at the request of the Office of the Mayor to gather information about cost savings and cost recovery to help balance the City’s budget. The topics of our job site meetings include the Mayor’s request to encourage MCIA members to take voluntary furlough days; methods to improve our job efficiency; and full cost recovery for City operations.

MUNICIPAL CONSTRUCTION INSPECTORS ASSOCIATION—MCIA—AFL-CIO November 2008 Mission Statement:

The Municipal Construction Inspectors Association—MCIA—is dedicated to protecting and promoting its membership’s interests and to securing fair compensation agreements with Los Angeles City management.

The MCIA is obligated to design and implement a sustainable program that will define and pursue the collective interests of members to enhance the safety and security for the residents and businesses of the City of Los Angeles.
